The Why (1)

I toyed for years (literally, my journals verify this) with the idea of creating a public blog. I drafted whole concepts—blog titles, tag lines, even opening posts—but nothing ever felt “right” enough to lure me into the abundantly populated blog world. Knowing that once you start blog hopping, you could spend months moving from one blog to another, I didn’t want to throw my hat in the ring until I felt like I had something to add.

The pieces fell into place slowly, until the point that I couldn’t ignore the inspiration I had felt. I am so far from perfect it is laughable, but I am nothing if not intentional. I wanted a place where I could hold myself accountable and hopefully inspire other women at the same time. I want to accept myself (and I want you to do the same!), but I also want to (gently) push myself to improve.

So, during my brainstorming phase, I penned this question in my journal: “Why do I live?” I listed the first four answers that came to mind. I’ll share the first today and more to come, as “The Why” becomes a semi-regular series here at Let Why Lead. I wrote:

“1. Because my Heavenly Father wanted me to experience life on earth and all that comes with it (peace, joy, exhaustion, love, pain, family, etc).”

I’ve got some experiencing to do this weekend. I’ll be able to spend some time with two pillars in my life, my dad and grandpa, who are in town from Utah. (You might remember my brief introduction to my cute dad, here.) I also get to teach Christ-centered music every Sunday to about 40 children, ranging in age from 3 to 12. Nothing lets you experience life like trying to keep a slew of 11-year-old boys singing for half an hour!

But most of all, I’m grateful I get to experience it all with that guy on the left and those two beautiful blond heads.
