Our 3-year-old’s room has become our favorite place to hang out. I think it’s just such a happy space that we’re all drawn to it—even our 7- and 6-year-old boys, although they’d never admit to being drawn by so much pink!
Last month when I talked about Quinn’s bedding, many of you asked about the wallpaper, and I can’t blame you—it’s gorgeous!!
When I was planning Quinn’s room, I knew I wanted to take a bit of risk in there. It felt perfect for a strong statement because it wouldn’t overwhelm the whole house. And since it’s not a room that our average guest sees, I knew I had more room to experiment.
Is it permanent?
Typically, the thing that keeps me from committing to a bold statement is permanence, and for a long time, wallpaper automatically fell into that category.
But self-adhesive, removable wallpaper? That opens all kinds of doors! (And covers all kinds of walls—ha!)
How am I going to get it to line up?
My next worry was getting the pattern to line up.
Thankfully, Walls Need Love solved that problem as well for me by making paper that has a dividing bar in it every ten feet or so. All I had to do was cut along the line and then align the strip of paper with the ceiling.
From there, you slowly remove the paper baking and press to the wall, like you would a giant sticker, moving down as you go.
In the end, the pattern lines up because you started in the same place each time (at the pre-made dividing line).
As an imperfectionist, this was the feature I appreciated the most. It took so much of the measuring and calculating (honestly, the brainpower) out of the project. 🙂 If you look closely at mine, you’ll see that I sometimes got off a bit. But it’s not enough to notice it unless you’re really looking for it. 🙂

Yes, it really isn’t! It takes some time to work downward in a (mostly-)straight line, but it’s not nearly as labor intensive as traditional wallpaper! Thanks for entering and sharing, Bonnie! Hope you’re well!
Robyn Black
removable wallpaper is awesome because i would be scared to do something so permanent incase i hate it in a few years! but if it’s easy to remove, it’s just like painting!
i like their birch tree decals also!
