We’re finishing up a wonderful 10-day visit with family in Utah, but I still wanted to pop in to say hello! Here are a few random things I’ve learned this month.
- Preschool graduation would get to me more than I expected.
- Ted Talks and Arrested Development episodes are good for my marriage.
- I’m more of an introvert than I thought. I’ve never considered myself one, because I love people, but my boys’ camping trip reminded me that I need solitude to fill myself back up.
- I can pack for a family of five in one checked bag!
- I remembered that only very flexible mamas (which, sadly, I’m not) may want to travel with an infant. I’ve thought this with each of my babies, but I always manage to forget and then travel again with the next little one. 🙂 But that’s okay; it’s still worth it overall!
- Getting off a plane right onto the tarmac might just blow your son’s mind!
One last thing – In the off chance that you haven’t already heard, google reader is going away as of July. So be sure to transfer your blogs to a new platform. Both Bloglovin’ and Feedly make it really easy. All you have to do is put in your google login, and it’ll slide all your favorite blogs right over. It takes one minute, literally!
Obviously, I don’t want to lose you if you follow me by way of google reader, so please make the switch! Other options include following Let Why Lead on facebook or typing your email in on my sidebar to get posts sent to your inbox. Thank so much, everyone!

Oh no! Did I miss my chance to meet up?! I’m so sorry I fell off the face of the planet this month … too much on my plate in June. Sounds like you were busy, busy too, so maybe we’ll have to catch you next time … Happy travels back home. Traveling with little ones is stressful, for sure. I remember being so sweaty and anxious after going through security!!

No problem, Monica! Our Utah trips always fly by, anyway, with both of our families here. But I would really have LOVED to catch up with you!

All packed in one bag is impressive!!! Especially with a baby–they need a bag of their own! I guess that’s what paying for baggage will make you do. Does Allegiant fly out your way too? I have yet to fly them but have several family members that love them because they fly to Ogden and Provo and then back to the Mesa Gateway Airport which isn’t too far from our house.

Yes! They just opened a route from Oakland to Provo, so we were eager to try it out. Yay for cheap fares! Only downside is that you have to pay for pretty much everything else, including carryon bags and even snacks on the plane. (No peanuts!) Someday I definitely want to take the Oakland to Mesa route! Also, I should add the disclaimer that I was able to send diapers, wipes, and formula with my mom in advance. Otherwise Quinn would definitely have needed her own bag!

As a traveling family, I am quite impressed with the “one checked bag part” for a family of five. You rock girlie!
