We seem to be on the one-out-of-two track, where one one day of our weekend is glorious (good attitudes, good food, and adventure) and the other day is not so much. (Lackluster attitudes, tired parents and kids, not enough adventure.) I think it depends on how much planning we put into our day and how much sleep we get the night before. 🙂 Anyone else on the one-out-of-two track?
Saturday was our amazing day. We started out attempting to catch the view from Twin Peaks in San Francisco, but as you can see, we mostly caught a view of fog. 🙂
It always reminds me of the Mark Twain quote: “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.” So true.
But the city can have some amazing summer days too. If you’ve never been, you need to come visit me!
After our chilly view, we traded the hills for city streets and tried a new pizza place called Little Star. (Tony’s is better, in my book.) We were there before it opened, so we wandered the streets for a while, taking pictures by colored front doors and peeking into tiny alleyways between row houses.
Next weekend, we’re shooting for two days out of two. 🙂

“Anyone else on the one-out-of-two track?” YES! So with you, sister! Your photos are absolutely beautiful, though. And next time I’m in San Fran, I’m so coming to visit you 🙂

YES Katie! I would love that!

It’s funny that you wrote about weekends–they have been on my mind recently! A few days ago, I told another mom that I kind of dread the weekends because of the lack of structure, and that I find them hard to fill. During the week, at least Clara has a few scheduled activities so that I don’t have to think so much about how to fill the time. And not planning anything is a recipe for frustration and very long days. When you are a stay-at-home parent, I think weekends can be some of the hardest working days, actually! I know I always feel a little more relaxed when Monday rolls around. 🙂 There is less pressure on how to fill the day.
