The ONE GOOD THING about the sun going down so early: It’s much easier to catch the golden hour!
We only had a few hours of daylight left by the time church got out on Sunday. I was leaning toward staying home when Ryan suddenly said, “Let’s just go. Anywhere.” So we grabbed the beach bag and our iPhones and headed out. (Good call, Husband.)
We climbed rocks and picked at fossilized mussels. We avoided eye contact with the nude old man in the distance. 🙂 We watched the sun dip below the skyline and waited while the fog rolled back in.
The boys ran races down to the water and back, with Ryan picking up our youngest boy (Chase) and sprinting like mad so that Chase had a chance of catching up with his older brother.
We used the bodies God gave us and fell deeper in love with the earth he created for us.

This sounds delightful – although I’m cracking up about the nude old man!?! Keep adventuring!

Right?? I guess it has something to do with how the land was deeded, but this beach is nude-friendly. Thankfully, it’s usually just an old guy way down on the other end. 😉

You’re just the best, Erica! Loved this post and the resulting inspiration so much. 🙂

Aw, you’re sweet, Courtenay. This was one of those “maybe I shouldn’t post this because there’s really no point to it” kind of posts. But I decided it was a just a simple breath of fresh air and went ahead and posted anyway. I’m glad it was a pick-me-up for you!!

How absolutely precious. Nowhere near the beach (jealous), but we live on several acres. So, when the weather is right, we are outside, making the most of every moment. Beautiful post and gorgeous family!
Teresa
This is so beautiful! We’re about to have our second child in January and I can’t wait to see them all play and interact with each other. Thank you for sharing this!

Oh I’m so happy for you, Teresa! I say it all the time, but there is nothing I have loved more about motherhood than seeing my kids’ relationships unfold. Congrats on the soon-to-be addition to the family!
