Get ready for Erica overload. I apologize in advance. Believe it or not, I do have a point.
I recently recruited my cute friend Angelica Hagman to come take pictures of my boys and me. MINUS that one grown-up boy who is a part of our family.
I was out of my comfort zone to take family photos without my husband, but I am SO happy I did. These photos capture some of the best moments of my life right now:
Smiling and taking it all in with my older son…
Cuddling and comforting the younger one… (A distantly barking dog startled him – very typical)
And most importantly, watching airplanes from the hillside next to our apartment! (You could find us here often.)
I spend almost every hour of every week with these handsome little men, so even if it felt completely weird having a photo shoot devoted to just the three of us us, it was worth any awkwardness it to have this stage of my life documented. I know I’ll treasure these images as our boys grow and change.
Would you consider a photo shoot with just your kids? Have you done anything outside of your comfort zone lately?

Cute! I think it's a great idea. Us women/moms should get more pictures with the children, because it's us who appreciate those pictures the most. I know it's a pain to get Josh excited about pictures meaning we never have as many as I want. 🙂 I love the grey, too!
SO true that we moms like family photos the most! And yeah, Ryan was definitely not too disappointed to miss it! haha
I love this idea! I wish there was a way to better document the mom+kid "everyday" moments: making breakfast, folding laundry, etc. (Except that I know if it came down to it, I'd hate the idea of someone photographing that!) 🙂 Your pics are beautiful!
Erica, the pictures are beautiful and I love the idea. Since you spend the most time with them, it makes sense to document those special moments.

Those pictures are so beautiful! When Bria turned one, I had a photographer friend take her pictures, and she snapped a couple shots of just the two of us together. It's something I would never have thought to do, but I totally cherish them now.
