. . . If you’re a local. And if you’re not, come visit! I will personally take you to all three! (We can do some pavement-pounding sight seeing in between to make up for the calories consumed. 🙂
1. Tony’s Pizza Napolatana in the North Beach of San Francisco. We are a bit obsessed with this place. We don’t make it in as often as we would like, but if I lived in that neighborhood, I would be in trouble! Their New Yorker pizza (pictured above) just may be my all-time favorite food. Tony Gemignani is 11-time world pizza champion, according to their website, and also runs a pizza school next door. If you dine at Tony’s, you’re likely to meet an owner of a tiny, downhome pizza parlor in the Midwest who is in town to learn from the pizza champion himself. 🙂 SUCH amazing pizza! {website}
2. Cafe Pro Bono in Palo Alto. Ryan took me here (not for the first time) on a surprise birthday date just last night. The dish they are most known for is called Susan’s Downfall. Herb and cheese ravioli in a gorgonzola cream sauce with toasted almonds on top! It is out-of-this-world amazing, in my opinion. The flavor is surprisingly delicate, for gorgonzola, and just different enough from a regular white sauce that you will be licking the plate clean. We also love the bread with basil dipping oil. {website}
3. Pluto’s. They have several locations in the Bay area. We drop in at the Palo Alto location pretty regularly. Their slogan is “fresh food for a hungry universe,” and everything tastes bright and fresh. We always split a main dish salad. You choose your type of greens, your dressing, and seven toppings. The tri tip we get on top is amazing! If we have the kids with us, we also order a sandwich or a couple of sides. Seriously, you can’t go wrong at this place! {website}
On a sentimental note, one of my favorite moments from our marriage happened to occur at this place, so I will always associate it with good feelings.
The implied New Year’s resolution here? Eat better food! And – all things in moderation. 🙂 I believe it was Julia Child who said people who love to eat are the best kind of people. I couldn’t agree more!Â

Those all sound great! One of my resolutions was to travel, so maybe we’ll be making a trip out sometime this year 🙂

Yay! Come see us! We’d love to have you and to get to know this husband of yours!

I live here and have only been to one of the three. I really want to try Tony’s Pizza; that looks delicious!

Yum. That Susan’s Downfall dish sounds delicious. Where is the Pinterest copycat recipe??
And Chad still talks about that pizza place you guys took us to when we visited last year. Was that Tony’s I think?
