I have mixed feelings about WIWW. I love it because as a busy mom, participating gives me that nudge I need to get dressed cute, rather than than staying in lounge pants all day. And I really like the huge group of great women who participate too, over at the Pleated Poppy. It’s fun to feel the community there!
The down side, of course, is the embarrassment of posting four pictures of my full self in one post, for anyone to see. I think maybe I should turn this into What SHE Wore Wednesday, so that I could post pictures of my friends in cute outfits, rather than me! Genius!
As you may remember from previous WIWW posts, my style is pretty simple, I try to only buy what I love, and I do my best to keep my wardrobe pretty small. Those three things make getting dressed a breeze most days.
1. Shirt: Banana Republic / Shorts: Anthropologie / Sandals: American Eagle
2. Shirt: Banana / Skirt: Gap / Flip Flops: Banana
3. Shirt: Banana / Jeggings: Nordstrom (these make an appearance in every WIWW post!) / Wedges: Nordstrom Rack
4. Shirt: Zara / Shorts: American Eagle / Shoes: Boden
Has anyone else found it harder to be a thrifty shopper since you had kids? I’ve noticed that ever since most of my shopping started involving a double stroller, I’m more likely to shop at stores where I know I’ll find something I like—and quickly. For example, Banana and I have a great rapport. (Probably because I worked there once.) Though I do my best to shop sales, my new, efficient ways mean I pay a little more than I used to, but at least I get quality clothes and fewer headaches!
PS. I LOVE summer!

I have the same reservations about a WIWW post on my blog. For one thing, none of my clothes fit right now and, even if they did, they’re not really all that cute. I’m hoping when I lose a little weight, I can kind of start over with my wardrobe… You know, purchase quality classic pieces and add in inexpensive trendy pieces here and there.
Btw, love your outfits! I think simple, comfy, casual is the way to go!

Thanks, Alana! I think your new wardrobe philosophy is perfect! Can’t wait to see it!! 😉

I love your outfits! Simple is the way to go when you’re a busy mom. When I see WIWW posts of moms wearing really fancy stuff with heels, I wonder how they can realistically wear that with kids! I mean, yeah, once in a while, but mostly we just have to try to be cute with simple clothing and minimal effort! At least that’s how I am! If I ever post outfits with heels, it’s because I wore them to church and that’s it! My favorite of your outfits is #3.

What SHE wore Wednesday — haha, I like that idea.

I love our outfits Erica!! I esp. love those wedge heels from Nordstram. I feel the same way about WIWW. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I see NO ONE my age doing it so I really feel silly. 🙂
Have a blessed week!

I’m loving your wedges. I can honestly say that I enter the mall with my kids a handful of times a year, tops. And that’s just in cases of an emergency. And when I’m there, I am reminded why I should have just stayed home. I understand that some parents have to take everyone along for the ride, but for me it just looks like torture!

You are just plain cute!!! XOX

I LOVE WIWW! Please keep posting…I have so much to learn from you.

You must be joking, because I think I have way more to learn from you! You should post some outfits on your blog! 🙂
