I’m busy-busy, as moms always are when getting a family ready for vacation. We are spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Arizona. It’s been three years since I’ve been back; I cannot wait! (Like seriously, please bless I make it until then!) But I have to take a minute to acknowledge a few things I’m grateful for right now.
1. Little boys with good hearts, who generally want to please us, and our 12-inch / 25-week daughter on her way!
2. My hard-working husband. Sometimes I think mean-spirited things about his job when it keeps him away from us, but I am very grateful to be married to someone who provides so well and never shies away from hard work.
3. My extended family, especially the gift of siblings. I’m so happy my parents gave me three beautiful people to share life with, even if we are spread across the West right now!
4. The gift from God to keep the long-range perspective in mind. My vision for our family keeps me going and gives me so much comfort when I’m smack-dab in the middle of the craziness that is raising children. 🙂
My favorite quote to grace our chalkboard this year is from Henry David Thoreau: “I make myself rich by making my wants few.” I hope that you, too, feel very rich this holiday season!

Me too! A huge, old-timey Bel de Mar celebration would be perfection. Have a great Thanksgiving, Nat!

Happy Thanksgiving, Erica! Have a wonderful trip – and take advantage of eating for two! An extra slice of pie sounds delightful!

Those are all great things to be thankful for. We are traveling home after Thanksgiving to see family. So I completely understand your excitedness. Okay, not a word. But it’s true. 🙂 Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Wonderful, insightful and fun! That’s YOU! I’m happy you could make the trek back to the land of your birth. Not much makes a mother’s heart happier than to know her adult children are friends. Love, Mom
