She smiles for me.
If you walk up and try to win a smile, she’ll probably give you one, assuming she can stay focused long enough. After all, she’s only ten weeks old. But for me, it’s different. Most of the time, when I call to her, I can see her eyes dart around in search of mine, and the quick smile that erupts goes straight to her eyes.
Those plump cheeks, which almost bury her eyes when she gives me her best grin, remind me that someday I won’t have a baby who lights up better for me than anyone else. I’ll miss this, with all my heart.
Which is exactly why I’m going to stop typing and go make that girl smile.
I hope your weekend is filled with little ones’ smiles too.

Amazing that you managed to catch it on camera too! Love her fancy little dress and hair (head?) bow. 🙂
