I’m excited to be at the keyboard again! Thank you for visiting today, even after my quiet August.
Let me fill you in on my little vacation. In the past month, I have . . .
- Worked hard to perfect my applesauce-making skills. (Results forthcoming!)
- Bid goodbye to the terrible threes (which were not always so terrible) when my oldest turned four!
- Finished my church assignment teaching songs to the three- to eleven-year-old children. It was bittersweet to move on.
- Started a new assignment in the church nursery (ages 18 months to 3 years). I guess I just can’t get enough toddlers in my life!
- Admittedly got sucked in by the show The Guardian on Netflix. And loved it.
- Bursted with pride at my son’s improvement in swimming lessons. (Week by week, he found more “brave!”)
- Asked for—and got—a raise!
- Pined away wishing preschool would start sooner. (One more week! It’s amazing what four hours a week and a bit of structure does for this family!)
- Spent an amazing amount of time at parks with my girlfriends and our kiddos.
- Went to Jamba Juice four times in ten days when their smoothies were on sale for a dollar!
Did you guys miss me (and my excessive use of parentheses)? I’ll tell ya – I missed you! Whether I know you in person or not, I value the friendships I’ve been making through Let Why Lead—and the encouragement I gain through reading many of your blogs. Also, life is more in focus for me when I’m writing, so I’m relieved and delighted to be back. Thank you so much for joining me on the ride!
What was the best thing that happened to YOU in August?
Alison
I am glad to hear you got a raise, and it’s crazy to see you guys in jackets in the summer! I had no idea Jamba was doing dollar smoothies – I would have gone every day.

I’ve missed your parantheses (And I use them waayyy too much myself)! It sounds like you had a great (if pretty busy) vacation time. 😉 I had a great (and pretty busy) August as well, though I did my short vacation time already earlier in the summer. Still, it was nice to be back at school, and I also started a new job, so I had plenty of excitemen in my August!
Erica {let why lead}
Phew! Someone else appreciates parentheses as much as I do! Congrats on the new job! I’m looking forward to checking out your blog!
Alarwyn
I guess that means I probably should come back from my (not very intended) blog-hiatus as well! 😀

Good luck with your new calling!!! Eric and I were in that calling for about 7-8 months…with two of our own boys in it. It was tough!!! Having 10-12 little kids running around is CRAZY!!! Now we are teaching 10-12 five and six year olds, one of which is our oldest son. It is more manageable though. I am so glad you are back!! I have missed reading your posts 🙂

Welcome back! It sounds like you had a wonderful month. And congrats on the raise! Way to go!

Welcome back, friend! Sounds like you had a lot of good family time during your “absence”. It’s always good to take a break because we come back ready to jump in the saddle again. Looking forward to seeing what’s ahead for you.

Yay! Welcome back!!

Welcome back! Excited to hear from you more regularly again!

Sounds like a pretty good month to me! I’m so excited that you got your raise….hooray! And I love your little blog, so I’m excited that you’re back too. 🙂

Glad you’re blogging again, Erica! I missed reading Let Why Lead! Let’s get together soon.

Congrats on the raise! And good luck in nursery. Luke and I were in there for 6 months. Hopefully things go smoothly for you.
The best thing about August for me was that I got to celebrate my first anniversary!

Miss you? Sure did!! We’re glad you’re back and feeling rested and rejuvenated! As you know, we had a beautiful vacation at the beach last month. The time as a family was so wonderful!

It’s great to see you back here! Did your boys grow overnight? They look so much bigger after just one month. Four years old is a big step. Enjoy the preschool structure! Best part of August for us was extra family time. We stole a few outings to kid-friendly places like the children’s museum and Monkey Joe’s inflatable playground. I soaked up my kids as much as possible because, well, you know, the big K is upon us now. I’m on a mission to make the most of my one-on-one time with my toddler. We’re learning our letters this month. Next month I think I’ll have her reading Tolstoy. 🙂
Welcome back to bloggerdom! We DID miss you!
